Intensive English Program

Intensive English Program

The ESL Academy’s Intensive English programs (IEP) offer focused classroom and computer-based English as second language training. It is divided into three subject areas: vocabulary and conversation, writing and grammar, and reading strategies. The Blended Learning Methodology of instructor lectures, computer-based materials, and project-based learning sessions allow students to learn English and reach their goals more quickly. The IEP consists of three progressive ESL levels: Beginner English, Intermediate English, and Advanced English. Each level is three academic quarters in length. All IEP classes are designed to help students prepare for participating in U.S. college and university courses through improved writing, listening, and reading comprehension skills.

Beginner Level - 1 Year/30 weeks

At the beginner level of the Intensive English Program, students will learn the basics of communicating in English. Through language lab classes, workshops, and lecture classes, students will become comfortable speaking about relatively simple topics with classmates, teachers, and native English speakers. Students with placement exam scores of 0-50 are placed in Beginner IEP.
