Academic English Programs

The ESL Academy’s programs in Academic English (AEP) are college-level courses designed for advanced-level ESL students. Classes in Academic English include rigorous English training in reading for academic purposes, critical writing skills, and communication skills especially suited for participation in American college classrooms. There are three tracks to choose from in Academic English: General Writing, Literature, and General Communication. Each track is three academic quarters in length and can be taken independently in any order.

General Writing Program - 1 Year/30 weeks

Writing is an important part of many college classes. Homework assignments, essays, term papers, tests, and final exams often rely on both a student’s knowledge and his or her ability to communicate effectively in writing. General Writing programs will help international and ESL students develop the critical thinking skills and writing strategies needed to make clean writing and persuasive arguments.
